This program is comprised of classroom instruction and practical externship experience. It provides students with the technical knowledge and fundamental principles of pharmacy practice within retail or hospital setting. It also enables students to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) examination and obtain an entry-level position as a pharmacy technician. Students will learn dosage calculations, I.V. flow rates, drug compounding, dose conversions, dispensing of prescriptions and inventory control.
